This is a 30-minute joke that refuses to punch down at what it's parodying. The animation moves like it cost real money, the score swells at exactly the moments Kamen Rider SD wants you to laugh hardest, and the comedy lands because it understands the DNA of Showa tokusatsu well enough to break it on purpose. You don't need to have watched original Kamen Rider to feel this one hit, but if you have, the affection underneath every gag makes it feel like a love letter written by someone who actually gets why those shows mattered. The 1993 production values age like fine wine; most parodies from this era look cheap or desperate. This one looks like care.
