Akomi's boyfriend is catastrophically stupid and somehow that's the whole point. The joke isn't that she tolerates him, it's that she genuinely loves him anyway, and the show cranks the comedy so fast you don't have time to think about whether any of this makes sense. Five minutes has never felt shorter.
