A mangaka who literally doesn't understand human emotion asks his assistant to let him use her body as research material, and somehow this works as comedy instead of assault. The show knows exactly what it is: a fast-paced excuse to watch two people orbit each other while pretending the touching is just method acting for manga deadlines. By episode three you're not even thinking about whether this premise should work, you're laughing at how committed they both are to the bit.

Aito Yuuki is a talented, kind, but somewhat perverted manga artist who struggles to grasp what the characters in his stories feel. Short on experience with girls, he asks his level-headed assistant Ashisu Sahoto to serve as a reference for his work, and she is willing to go to great lengths for the sake of the manga. Their editor Otosuna Mihari keeps up the pressure to meet deadlines for his series HajiCafe. More assistants join the mix: newcomer Fuwa Rinna is a huge fan who cannot actually draw, while the highly capable Kuroi Sena turns out to be a tsundere with a sadistic streak. Aito's mix of kindness and constant pervy requests leaves his assistants unsure how to feel about him. Short episodes play the chaos of a working manga studio for comedy, with ecchi and romance in the mix, always pushing toward finishing the next installment.
