Humanoid machines known as Labors have spread into every field of industry as advanced technology develops at a rapid pace. Their arrival has also brought a new social danger: crimes committed with Labors. To stop these incidents from piling up, the Metropolitan Police Department sets up a dedicated unit, the Special Vehicle Section No.2, which fields a company of patrol Labors called Patlabors.
