Three tiny Gundams in a fantasy world cracking jokes while they fight. The show knows it's absurd and leans into it completely, treating a mobile suit adventure like a fairy tale where the punchline matters more than the plot. SD Gundam works because it doesn't apologize for being silly, it commits to it.
The Musha Gundam, Knight Gundam and Commando Gundam join forces with a young girl named Riplin to battle evil in this two-part OVA from 1991. The first episode, Emergency Sortie, mixes mecha action with comedy as the super-deformed heroes fight side by side. The second episode, Suginamu's Bride, gives the spotlight to Artesia in an adventure with a fantasy flavor. In theaters the release ran on a double bill with Kidou Senshi Gundam F91, and the VHS edition added an episode that was not shown in cinemas.
