Nobody remembers this one exists. That's the entire problem. The third episode builds a completely separate world from the TV series, not a continuation, not a side story, but a full alternate timeline where everything you thought you knew about these characters gets rewired. It's the kind of creative swing that only happens when a studio has nothing left to lose, and it shows in every frame.

Kikou Kai Galient is a three-episode OVA from 1986 that mixes action, adventure and mecha. Its first two episodes condense the events of the television series into recap form. The third episode, titled Crest of Iron, departs from that continuity and tells a story set in an alternate universe, so the release offers both a summary of the original series and a separate what-if take on it.
