Kinnikuman walks in late stuffing his face while his entire team gets obliterated, then has to solo the guy who just absorbed all their powers, and the movie plays this as hilarious before it plays it as heroic. The tournament setup is window dressing; what matters is watching the dumbest, most lovable wrestler in existence realize he's the only one left standing. A 1986 comedy-action film that knows its protagonist's greatest strength is refusing to take himself seriously, even when the odds are impossible.
