A wrestler who answers a hero summons by suplexing the princess and opening a pet shop instead. The comedy lands because Genzou never breaks character, never apologizes, never stops being exactly what he is. KonoSuba's author understanding that absurdism works best when the protagonist is completely sincere about selling monster cat ears in another world.

A professional wrestler finds himself transported to a fantasy kingdom with one mission: slay dangerous magical beasts. Problem is, he's an animal lover through and through. When the princess presenting this job learns exactly how much he despises the idea of harming creatures, she becomes intimately familiar with professional wrestling moves. Stuck in this strange land with no way back to Earth, Genzou Shibata, known in the ring as Animal Mask, takes on work as a beast hunter who captures and befriends monsters rather than killing them, all in pursuit of his dream of running a pet shop. The wolf-girl Shigure, the dragon-girl Hanako and the vampire Carmilla Vanstein join him along the way. Expect a lighthearted fantasy comedy with a slice of life streak, built around a wrestler who would rather adopt monsters than fight them.
