A polar bear is so in love with a seal that every instinct tells him to protect instead of consume. The seal doesn't believe it for a second, so every moment becomes this perfect loop of the bear trying to prove devotion while the seal braces for his own ending. That gap between what the bear feels and what the seal fears is the entire show, and it's impossibly gentle.
An arctic romance plays out between two unlikely animals in this three-part comedy. A nervous seal shares the frozen landscape with a polar bear who has fallen for him. The bear's intentions are purely affectionate, and all he wants is to protect the seal. The seal, however, remains convinced that his larger companion is plotting something far more sinister: turning him into a meal. The humor comes from this basic misunderstanding. When the seal tries to slip away from the sleeping bear, the bear wakes and dashes after him. The seal begs not to be eaten, and the bear answers with a kabedon against a wall of ice. The bear stays earnest in his devotion while the seal stays genuinely terrified, and their clashing feelings drive the situational comedy.
