Kazuma finally gets to be the hero he pretended to be, and the show knows exactly how funny that is. A fan girl shows up to ask for his autograph like he's actually saved the world, when really he just stumbled into winning through sheer dumb luck and his party's chaos. The joke lands because Konosuba has never let him off the hook for being a fraud, and this OVA just turns that fraud into his actual currency.

Kazuma's finally caught a break. With his debts cleared and a reputation for taking down the Devil King's generals, he's living the dream in this fantasy world. Then a rookie adventurer named Ran approaches him at the guild as a fan, and for once, Kazuma feels like a genuine hero. The good mood doesn't last long. Luna, the guild receptionist, asks him to take on a quest to defeat a golem guarding ancient ruins. Eager to keep his newfound fan's admiration, Kazuma accepts and brings Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness along. When the party makes it back, he keeps showing off to Ran, and Luna uses that to steer him toward a second job at the same ruins. Hoping for valuable treasure, Kazuma talks his party into going again, but this time the task may be more than they can handle. The fantasy comedy OVA was bundled with the twelfth volume of the light novel.
