The Kuroko no Basket franchise has bloated itself across countless recap movies and filler specials, and this special is exactly that kind of padding. But the actual thing that happens here is pairings you never see on court finally talking to each other like real people instead of rivals or teammates. Midtaka and Akashi sharing a moment. Kuroko and Kagami without the arena framing everything. The special knows it's just one episode of people sitting around, so it gives them permission to be funny and honest in ways the main series never quite allows. That's all it is. That's enough.

Kuroko no Basket: Oshaberi Shiyou ka is a single-episode special from 2017. It was released as a bonus on the third Kuroko no Basket fan disc, Korekara Nandodemo. The special carries the franchise's sports setting into a comedic short, making it a small extra for viewers already attached to the series.
