A prodigy hitting a wall is worse than never being good at all. The show watches you realize that talent alone stops mattering the moment you need to care about something besides yourself, and every person around Kanade is forcing her to want something more than a perfect score. By the time you understand what she's actually competing for, it has nothing to do with the violin.

Kanade Kohinata is a high school sophomore hailed as a genius violinist, yet she feels stuck on a plateau and struggles to keep improving. At one of his concerts she meets her childhood friend Ritsu Kisaragi again and is introduced to his younger brother Kyoya. Ritsu firmly pushes both of them to transfer to his school, Seiso Academy, to get ready for an approaching national music competition. Once there, Kanade finds the orchestra club already preparing for the contest. Playing alongside its members, she works to sharpen her skills and runs into new rivals. Meanwhile, the Kisaragi brothers and other good-looking young men begin to stir her heart over one summer of music, drama and romance.
