This is a show that understands gacha game nonsense so deeply it weaponizes it as comedy. Every broken economy joke, every "we got abandoned by corporate," every absurd gacha pull mechanic lands because the show isn't explaining the joke to outsiders, it's letting people who live this suffer laugh at themselves. The punchlines keep landing even when the plot spirals into complete absurdity, which is exactly the point.

In a world where monstrous beasts known as Spirals arise from isolation, the fighters able to defeat them are called Periods. Haru, a 14-year-old apprentice Period, belongs to the Eighth Division of the Arc End organization. After a mysterious theft plunges the division into bankruptcy, the Arc End headquarters abandons it, and only three Periods remain, Haru among them. Together, the trio sets out to restore their branch by taking on one quest after another. Adapted from a smartphone role-playing game by Happy Elements, the series blends action, adventure, comedy and fantasy.
