Ash and Pikachu travel to the tropical Alola region after his mother wins a free vacation. While exploring Melemele Island, Ash comes across the Pokémon School and decides to stay on and enroll. After a clash with the thugs of Team Skull, he witnesses Z-Moves, powerful Alolan attacks that require trainer and Pokémon to act in sync. The island's guardian deity, Kapu Kokeko, shows a keen interest in Ash and gives him a Z-Ring. With classmates such as Lillie and Kaki and a new RotomDex, Ash attends classes, fends off Team Rocket, and takes on the Island Challenge to master Z-Moves. The show mixes action, adventure and comedy with slice-of-life school days.
