The entire second season lives inside one impossible decision: a fleet admiral ordering men to die for a war already lost, because surrendering costs something worse than death. Reinhard arrives to crush them and instead finds a worthy adversary, not because Lobos has a secret plan, but because he understands what his soldiers are worth and refuses to let that math be written by someone else. This is strategy as philosophy, every fleet movement a statement about what you believe humans owe each other.

A failed invasion of the Galactic Empire, undone by poor supply management, leaves the Free Planets Alliance badly outnumbered. Rather than retreat, Fleet Admiral Lazar Lobos gathers the surviving fleets in the Amritsar Starzone for a last stand. Fleet Admiral Reinhard von Lohengramm leads the Imperial counterattack with a crushing advantage. Standing against him is Vice Admiral Yang Wen-li, who again covers for his superiors' failures and pulls off a narrow escape for his troops. Neither commander is satisfied: Reinhard's victory is incomplete, and Yang mourns the enormous losses. Soon both must turn to growing political unrest within their own nations in this sci-fi war drama.
