The episode strips away the franchise's action spectacle to sit with what actually matters: how quickly people believe the worst about someone they claim to care about. Komaki's arrest isn't a plot device, it's permission for the show to examine how gossip hardens into certainty, how a deaf woman's voice gets erased from her own story, how institutions move faster than the truth. The pacing is deliberate enough to let that weight settle.

Library Task Force member Mikihisa Komaki has known Marie Nakazawa, a girl from his neighborhood, since she was small, even though he is about ten years older. When Marie loses much of her hearing in middle school, he supports her by picking out books for her to read. One morning the Media Betterment Committee arrests him, claiming that one of his recommended novels invaded the privacy of a minor. His fellow Task Force members know the coming inquiry amounts to torture, and they search for a way to rescue him in time. The special was not broadcast. It was included with the third DVD volume of Library Wars and mixes action, comedy, drama and romance.
