You've walked into a library where every book is a corpse, and reading one means living someone's death. The Armed Librarians aren't archivists defending knowledge, they're soldiers protecting the dead from a cult that wants to rewrite what those corpses mean. The premise stays weird and stays true to itself, and that fidelity is what makes it work.

When people die, they become books. These stone-like volumes are kept in Bantorra Library, and anyone who reads one can learn the life it holds. The library is run by the Armed Librarians, fighters with supernatural powers, and their foe is a religious cult called the Shindeki Church. Based on Yamagata Ishio's light novels, the TV series is an action fantasy built around that conflict.
