Keitaro bombs the entrance exam again, but this time the chase isn't about the test, it's about whether anyone actually believes he deserves to be saved. Shinobu finally gets to be the one doing the saving instead of hiding in the background, and that shift rewires everything you thought you understood about the cast's hierarchy. The movie refuses to resolve Naru and Keitaro's actual relationship, which pisses off people who wanted closure, but rewards the people who came to watch these specific characters fail and stumble toward each other one more time.

The Tokyo University entrance exams arrive once again for Keitaro, and he sits down to the paper full of confidence. Partway through he dozes off and dreams about Narusegawa, waking with almost no time left to finish. Sure that he has failed, he tries to run away from Hinata Lodge and leave all its memories behind. A lucky run-in with Seta lands him on a faraway, deserted island, while the whole cast sets out to track him down and bring him back. The one-episode special mixes comedy, romance and a light adventure setup.
