A sheltered swordmaster loose in the modern world becomes the engine for genuinely funny misunderstandings, not just fanservice window dressing. Yoichi Karasuma has spent seventeen years in remote mountain isolation, mastering the Soaring Wind, Divine Wind swordsmanship style under his father's guidance. With nothing left to teach him, his father sends him to a friend's dojo in the city, where Yoichi expects to keep training. What he really has to learn is how modern life works: household appliances, current clothing, and how to talk to people without offending them. He stands out by acting like a samurai, with old-fashioned speech and traditional dress. The biggest test is living with the four Ikaruga sisters, Ibuki, Ayame, Chihaya and Kagome, who don't behave the way he thinks proper girls should. Girls from the rival Tsubame school add to his trouble. Clueless about ordinary social life, Yoichi keeps stumbling into comic misunderstandings while he adjusts to the city and his new household. The result is a fish-out-of-water comedy with romance and ecchi elements, adapted from a shounen manga.
