A kid and his shape-shifting robot tear through a fantasy world like they're running on pure chaos and refusal to take anything seriously. The mecha transforms mid-fight, the comedy lands harder than the action sequences, and nothing in this OVA cares about maintaining a consistent tone, it just keeps moving. Three episodes that feel like watching someone speedrun the entire adventure genre while laughing the whole way through. This hits if you're the kind of viewer who actually wants the anime to surprise you instead of comfort you.

Madou King Granzort: Bouken-hen is a 1992 action, comedy and fantasy OVA from Sunrise.
