This is what happens when 1996 animators decided a magical girl comedy could look like pure joy in motion. The gags land because the frames bend and stretch and move in ways that make even simple jokes feel alive. Sae's a girl trying to save Earth with five other misfits, except the real invasion is already over, so they're just learning to be human together while a silent alien ship watches from above. The plot doesn't matter as much as the fact that every scene moves like the animators were having the time of their lives drawing it.

A year ago, an alien spacecraft called The Bell arrived, crushed all resistance, and parked itself over the ocean. Humanity shrugged and moved on. Everyone except Takeo and his Magic User's Club, a ragtag group of actual magicians convinced the extraterrestrials won't stay peaceful forever. The problem: Takeo's team is a disaster. There's the lecherous club president, the dramatic vice president, a spacey princess-type, a clumsy newcomer, and her perpetually angry best friend. Rallying this circus of personalities to drive off the invaders and free the world becomes its own kind of battle.
