A witch named Siasha is marked for death simply for what she is. Witches are feared as the most dangerous beings alive, said to call down floods, conjure fire and wipe out whole nations in a single night, so everyone wants her gone. Zig, a tall, powerfully built mercenary, joins a hunt for her, and after a hard-fought duel she asks him to protect her, weary of having her life treated as worthless. Together they head for an unknown continent in search of a place where she can live in peace. Lost magic and vicious monsters wait along the way in this action fantasy.
