Sarasa's alchemy shop is not a power fantasy, it's a survival business run by a broke woman with textbook knowledge and nothing else. Every potion she brews, every creature she hunts, every copper she counts matters because she actually needs that money to eat tomorrow. The show gets quieter and funnier the deeper you go, finding comedy in the gap between academy training and the brutal reality of making a living in the middle of nowhere.

Sarasa, orphaned when bandits killed her parents, graduates from the Royal Alchemist Academy hoping for a life of wealth and elegance as an independent shop owner. Her teacher presents her with a dilapidated house as a graduation gift, and the shop she sets up there lies in a town far from the capital. Her new home sits deep in the countryside, where rough terrain and dangerous monsters stand between her and the supplies she needs. Running the business means gathering materials from that perilous wilderness and finding inventive ways to bring customers to such a remote spot. Sarasa sets out on this new life determined to become the greatest alchemist around, in a fantasy slice-of-life story built on the daily work of keeping a small shop going.
