It weaponizes lunch. Four episodes, barely longer than the time it takes to actually eat a bento, and the entire engine is one man deciding that the correct way to express feeling is to put food in front of Ootsu and watch him chew. Minegishi's intensity is played completely straight, which is exactly why it lands. The comedy lives in the gap between what he says out loud, which is basically nothing, and what he is very obviously doing, which is courtship by cooking, and Ootsu somehow never connects the dots. It runs at short-form speed with no fat on it, no arcs, no confessions, just the office, the meal, and the stare. If you have ever fed someone because you couldn't say the other thing, this one has your number.

Otsu is a salaryman who finds it hard to bear that his coworker Minegishi appears to have no flaws at all. Minegishi is refined, friendly and excellent at his job, the picture of an ideal man. What makes him happiest, though, is feeding Otsu good food. Each day he comes up with new plans to get Otsu eating with real enjoyment, hoping to satisfy both his colleague's appetite and his heart. This four-episode ONA is a short mini anime spun off from Minegishi-san wa Ootsu-kun ni Tabesasetai, mixing comedy, romance and everyday office life.
