Kyoutarou's dark fantasies are a joke the show is in on from frame one, but what actually matters is watching him become a person who doesn't need them anymore. Middle schooler Kyoutarou Ichikawa looks shy and quiet, but he pictures himself as the dark hero of a psychological thriller and daydreams about hurting his classmates, above all the class idol Anna Yamada.
