Maomao in chibi form is pure pharmacist energy without the murder mystery weight, just her being insufferably smart about poisons while everyone around her slowly loses their minds. These shorts strip away everything but the character core, the dialogue, and the joke that lands because you already know why she thinks the way she does. Watch this if you loved the actual series but wanted to see her as a force of nature in a room full of people who deserve it.

Maomao no Hitorigoto is a set of chibi comedy shorts spun off from Kusuriya no Hitorigoto. The 24 episodes came out as an ONA in 2023 and were released on the TOHO animation YouTube channel, with the Nippon Television channel also carrying them. The mini anime presents the world of the main series in a small, comedic chibi form.
