Berserk but everyone stopped taking themselves seriously, and somehow the worldbuilding gets funnier the more you know the source material. These six-minute episodes move at their own sleepy pace, trading dramatic weight for the kind of comedy that only lands if you've actually sat through the grimdark original. It's not a parody that punches down at what came before; it's the same characters letting their shoulders drop for the first time in their lives.

Mattari Kaisetsu: Boushoku no Berserk is a set of six short comedy episodes spun off from Boushoku no Berserk, released in 2023 as an online series on Genco's YouTube channel. The shorts present the fantasy story in a small, super-deformed chibi art style and play it for laughs. Fans of the original series will find a light, brief companion piece.
