A kid and an alien symbiote become one weapon, and the show treats it like the most fun thing that could ever happen. Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtrack doesn't just underscore the action, it becomes the reason you remember the fight, turning every collision into something that lands in your chest. The animation moves with such confidence, every frame of movement costs something, and you feel the weight of every punch before the impact hits. This is shonen stripped to what it does best: two unlikely partners learning to trust each other while everything explodes around them.
Alien organisms arrived on Earth centuries ago, and when they bonded with humans, they transformed into living weapons that looked disturbingly like mechanical arms. Now, ordinary middle schooler Hikaru Amatsuga finds himself stuck with Arma, one of these creatures, after an accident fuses them together. What makes Arma different from all the others is still a mystery, but it's valuable enough that a resistance organization called ARMS won't leave Hikaru alone. To keep him safe, they assign Aki Murasame, a soldier carrying two Mecha-ude of her own, as his constant shadow. She has her own agenda though: somewhere out there is a Snake-Type wielder responsible for hospitalizing her entire team. Meanwhile, a shadowy corporation called the Kagami Group hunts for something legendary, a Mecha-ude known as the Trigger Arm that could change everything. Caught between warring factions and supernatural forces he doesn't understand, Hikaru has to figure out what makes his symbiote special before everyone hunting it decides he's more trouble than he's worth.
