A burned-out prodigy discovers the game he's been winning his whole life is real, and the only person who can explain it wants him dead. The city itself is a lie built on top of a corpse, and Eiji has to choose between the truth that will destroy him and the comfortable simulation that never existed. Megazone 23 Part III doesn't reset the story, it fractures it, asking if knowing what happened before matters when you're already trapped in the next trap.
Takanaka Eiji is the top game master on the virtual circuit, but his life takes a dangerous turn once he starts working for E=X Corp. Much like Shogo in earlier installments, Eiji finds himself swept into a deadly war that leads back to the artificial intelligence called EVE, though whether it is the same EVE remains an open question. Hidden truths wait beneath Eden City and among the ruins of the old Megazone. The two-episode sci-fi OVA mixes mecha action, mystery and romance.
