Mob stops trying to be normal and finally accepts what he is, and the show breaks your heart doing it. Every power-up feels earned because BONES animates his growth instead of just telling you about it, the art direction doesn't waste a frame on anything that isn't character. By the finale, you're not watching a supernatural action show anymore; you're watching a kid learn that being different is the only honest thing he can do.

Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, a powerful esper who keeps his abilities bottled up, is back to the ordinary burdens of school life, beginning with a stressful career planning form. He still helps his mentor Arataka Reigen and new office member Katsuya Serizawa handle clients' paranormal cases. When a divine tree and a new religion appear, the city is thrown into upheaval. Supernatural and everyday trials alike push Mob to seek independence, connect with others, and rethink his long-held naivety, in a mix of action, comedy and psychological drama.
