Seven minutes of hand-drawn mobile suits moving through three-dimensional space the way they should. The 08th MS Team always understood that gravity and terrain matter more than beam spam, and this special proves the original animators never stopped seeing it that way. You watch this and remember why watching mechs navigate real environments instead of floating in void space feels like watching a different genre entirely.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team - Battle in Three Dimensions is a short special that came packaged with the Blu-ray memorial box set of The 08th MS Team. While out on a mission, the 08th MS Team makes its way through the jungle. Shiro Amada stops to check his map when he sees a long bridge ahead stretching across a broad river, and a group of Zeon forces launches an attack. The short is a mecha action piece.
