Matteo was meant to live out his days as an ordinary villager, but he is reborn as the grandson of Lawrence, an imperial aristocrat. His powerful grandfather dotes on him constantly. Matteo's enormous magical power lets him hatch a dragon egg with remarkable speed, and he tames the dragon and names it Eva. When his abilities are tested, he turns out to have the greatest magic power ever measured. He picks up magic quickly, brings ancient spells back to life, and easily draws a mighty sword that absorbs magic. He also wins the favor of the emperor, though the emperor appears to be hiding a secret. This fantasy follows the life of a noble who is loved, praised and affirmed at every turn.
