Kamui comes home to save his friends and finds out the only way to do it is to destroy the world or let it be destroyed. The animation moves like it knows this is the last beautiful thing you'll see before everything ends. CLAMP built a show where every celestial death costs someone their humanity, and the soundtrack won't let you pretend it doesn't matter.

Kamui spent six years away from Tokyo, but his return isn't a homecoming. The powerful psychic arrives carrying a burden: he's the focal point of an apocalyptic prophecy that demands he choose a side. On one side stand the Dragons of Heaven, determined to save humanity. On the other, the Dragons of Earth, willing to destroy civilization to protect the planet. Caught between these forces are Kamui's childhood friends Fuuma and Kotori. He wants nothing more than to protect their happiness, yet the conflict keeps reaching the people he cares about. As the Seven Seals and the Seven Angels gather, each bound to fight for the fate of the world, Kamui must weigh the lives of his friends against the future of the Earth. What he chooses won't just determine his future: it will determine everyone's.
