The action stops dead when Muteking needs to dance, and that's the entire joke. Every monster fight is an excuse to lock into a groove so infectious it loops in your head for days after you finish watching. This is what happens when a show trusts that rhythm and comedy are the same language, and lets the music do the heavy lifting instead of treating it like window dressing.

Neo San Francisco is a city of retro-future technology, loud music and sudden monster attacks, modeled on 1980s San Francisco. Muteki comes to the city from the countryside and meets DJ. When monsters strike, DJ's music transforms Muteki into Muteking, a superhero who fights with dance, and the two join forces to protect the city from evil alien invaders. A revival of a classic anime, the series mixes superhero action, sci-fi and comedy with singing, dancing and pop music, and its foes struggle to keep pace once Muteking starts to move.
