Katarina's bumbling charm gets swallowed by a tighter, shinier plot that trades the TV show's comedic chaos for a mystery box that actually resolves itself. The first half feels like it's checking boxes instead of letting her trip over her own obliviousness. By the third act, when the payoffs land, you remember why you loved this character, but the movie spends too long proving it doesn't need the scrappy energy that made the original work.

Katarina has managed to avoid her own death flag. Then she and her friends cross paths with a mysterious young man who travels with a caravan. Who is he, and what is he after? The film blends comedy, fantasy, romance and slice of life, and is adapted from Satoru Yamaguchi's light novels, which feature art by Nami Hidaka.
