Cutey Honey strips away the mahou shoujo pretense and builds pure action comedy on the back of one idea: a shapeshifting android whose bodies are weapons, period. Every transformation is a joke and a fight at once, the comedy landing hardest when it acknowledges what it's really showing you. The 90s OVA format lets it lean into that contradiction without apology, treating fan service and actual combat choreography as the same thing.

Evil threatens Cosplay City when the villainous Dolmeck appears, leading an army of monsters bent on wiping everything out. Only Cutey Honey stands in his way. Woken from a dormant state, Honey Kisaragi takes on her identity as a multi-transformational android, able to shift into a range of bodies, each with its own weapons and special skills.
