A girl decides to deliver ice cream to the sun. That is the entire premise, and the movie commits to it with the straightforward sincerity of a dream you have at seven years old. Nothing here is trying to impress you with spectacle or cleverness, it's just Noel and Pup moving forward into a story that doesn't need to justify itself, where a planet made of gaudy excess can exist next to the simple act of bringing a gift to an impossible place. The film knows that the best adventures aren't about saving the world. They're about showing up with your dog and your idea, and seeing what happens when you actually go.

Young Noel and her dog Pup live together on Planet Noel. One lazy day, Noel gets a wild idea: why not bring ice cream to the sun? The two take off and head across space toward it, ready for whatever comes their way. Along the way they stop at Planet Gaudy, where the President greets them and invites them to a special party. There, hosts parade the finest designs the planet has to offer. Noel is not impressed. She tells everyone that clothing makes no difference, since a person stays beautiful and loved whatever they wear. Her words move the President and the citizens to act, and before long Pup nudges Noel back toward their trip to the sun. The result is a playful fantasy adventure with plenty of comedy.
