Anime Like Occult Academy
Maya walks into her father's occult academy ready to burn it all down out of pure spite. Then a time traveler from a dead future shows up, and suddenly she's stuck investigating supernatural mysteries she never wanted to solve with a guy she has no reason to trust. SYNOPSIS
Maya returns to Waldstein Academy in 1999 determined to destroy her father's legacy. The school practically runs on occult research and supernatural nonsense, and she wants nothing more than to dismantle every last conspiracy theory and hoax the place stands for. Her destructive plans hit a snag when Fumiaki appears, a mysterious guy with an impossible story: he's from 2012, when aliens have already devastated the planet. His mission is clear. Somewhere in the school's archives lies the Nostradamus Key, an object that will trigger humanity's downfall if left undisturbed. To prevent the apocalypse, Fumiaki and Maya need to find it first. What begins as an uneasy partnership between a skeptic and a time traveler becomes something stranger. The occult phenomena Maya refuses to believe in keep manifesting around them. Supernatural occurrences pile up faster than rational explanations can account for. As they hunt for the key, Maya slowly discovers that her father's obsession with the occult might have more truth to it than she ever wanted to admit. Together, they navigate ridiculous supernatural obstacles, genuine mysteries, and the growing likelihood that the world's fate actually rests in their hands.
