The crew feels exactly like themselves, just with better animation and a soundtrack that makes you believe in their adventure all over again. It's a treasure hunt that doesn't pretend to be anything deeper, which means every scene exists to remind you why you fell in love with these idiots in the first place. By the end, you're not thinking about the plot, you're thinking about the moment Luffy decided the gold didn't matter, because that's the only moment that ever does.

Legend says the pirate Woonan seized a third of the world's gold and vanished with it to a hidden island that pirates still hunt for. Out on the Going Merry, a starving Luffy and his crew are robbed of their treasure by a band led by El Drago. Chasing the thieves, they wreck the escape ship, which is steered by Tabio, a boy held captive among El Drago's crew. Driven by his hunger for gold and holding Woonan's map, El Drago reaches the island. With the Straw Hats split apart, they must each find a way to stop him from claiming the fortune. The movie is a comic fantasy adventure packed with action.
