SYNOPSIS
Yosuke abandons his struggling village in the mountains, desperate to escape poverty and endless labor. His greed leads him deep into the forest one fateful night, where he witnesses the impossible: an ogre shedding its skin like a snake, transforming from blue to red before his eyes. In a moment of desperate opportunity, he steals the discarded skin and returns to the village wearing it as a disguise. With newfound power and the village believing him to be a supernatural being, Yosuke commits increasingly brutal crimes, finally satisfying his hunger for wealth and control. But the skin refuses to come off. What began as a tool for manipulation becomes a prison, fusing to his body and changing him from within. As Yosuke realizes the true cost of his transgression, the line between human ambition and monstrous nature blurs beyond recognition. This 1994 OVA transforms a folk tale into a dark meditation on greed, consequence, and what happens when a person becomes the very thing they exploited.
