This is what happens when you let people who actually love magical girl shows write a parody instead of just making fun of them. The raunchy humor lands hardest because it knows exactly which tropes it's dismantling, and it loves them anyway. It's campy enough to never take itself seriously, grounded enough that Tsubomi's arc actually makes you care, and divisive enough that you'll either laugh until your sides hurt or bail in episode one.
A year after a war left Kabuki-cho in ruins, the owner of the lingerie pub Papillon walks away from it and opens a new shop, New Papillon, in Akihabara. Tsubomi and her coworkers Anne and Shizuku lost their memories during that war and have started fresh lives in Akihabara. Then the Susano, aliens set on invading Earth, appear. They turn an unidentified mysterious animal into a monster and send it to attack Akihabara. A cat named Rama gives the three women back their memories and sends them into battle against the monster as Lingerie Soldiers. The six-episode TV sequel to the OVA mixes comedy, ecchi fan service, magical girl action and science fiction. It's absurd, colorful, and never takes itself seriously for a second.
