Ren's gone, and the Phantom Thieves have to steal him back from the dead. That sentence alone should tell you everything: this isn't a victory lap, it's a funeral that refuses to end quietly. The show takes the thing that makes Persona 5 work, the bond between these people, and uses it as a knife, making you watch them fight for someone who's already gone, knowing that winning means nothing if he stays dead. By the end, you're not celebrating a heist. You're grieving alongside five people who would burn the world down one more time just to save one person.

After Ren Amamiya's apparent suicide, the remaining Phantom Thieves are left grieving and without direction. Then Sae Niijima hurries to Cafe Leblanc with a startling revelation, and it pushes the group to attempt one more daring heist. Seasoned fighters of the metaverse, they set out to show the world that their cause is justice and to take down Gorou Akechi, the teammate who betrayed them. This one-episode special blends action, fantasy and supernatural elements.
