This is the kind of special that exists in a fever dream, not on actual television. Eight disconnected shorts that treat the laws of physics and narrative logic as optional suggestions, all compressed into one countdown to 2003. You watch it once and immediately understand why people still talk about Popee, it's not trying to be funny in any way you've trained yourself to recognize. The pacing is hostile, the editing is wrong on purpose, the humor arrives sideways and refuses to explain itself. By the time you realize what you're watching, the special has already moved on to something weirder. It's proof that you don't need coherence to be unforgettable, you just need to not care what anyone expects.

A special comprised of 8 shorts, aired to celebrate the new year of 2003.
