Poppoya-san: Nonki Kikanshi is a film that Japanese National Railways commissioned to show to its newly hired staff. The railway had already ordered one earlier film of this kind, which makes this the second. The story centers on an easygoing locomotive driver who slips up while he is at the controls of a train.
