The demon element arc finally gives this series a mystery worth solving instead of just watching Mo Fan steamroll everything. Those first three episodes build actual tension around what's happening, not just how strong the protagonist is. If you've been waiting for Quanzhi Fashi to remember that overpowered characters only work when the world around them gets harder, this is where it starts.

Mo Fan is believed to be dead, but his childhood friend Zhang Xiaohou hears rumors about where he might be and goes looking for him. Once they meet again, Mo Fan recruits Zhang Xiaohou and Li Man to hunt a huge lizard, since its soul can undo the side effects of his devil powers. Restored to his human self, he spends time with his stepsister Ye Xinxia in Song City and spots an enormous snake looming above the buildings. His teacher Tang Yue brings him to her island home and tells him how she is connected to the creature. Mo Fan promises to help guard the snake in return for its prized shed skin. Meanwhile, the White Eagle demon strikes the Western fortress, and a plague moves from Bai City into Song City. When the snake is blamed, Mo Fan sets out to clear its name by finding the real source of the sickness and a cure. The season is a twelve-episode action fantasy ONA adapted from a web novel by Chaos.
