Once the bubble gems have scattered and used up their power, calm settles over the sea, and Purple hopes to resume her studies on land. The Purple King stubbornly objects, but after she announces that she will run for queen, he allows her back to the surface. At the start of a new semester, Purple protects her friend Leo from the Blobs, underlings of Black Diamond, and in the process loses both her wand and her one princess dictionary. Sensing dark energy, White Gold, who watches over the sea, presents her with a replacement catcher and dictionary. With these, Purple crafts fresh bubble gems for the other princesses and boosts their magic, though she fails to create one in her own color. Joined by new human friends such as Gray, an upperclassman of Leo's, the seven mermaid princesses confront a returning Black Diamond who has grown more powerful, while Purple must protect both worlds without a gem of her own. A short-format magical girl series, it blends adventure, comedy and fantasy.
