Prince Rama, eldest son of the royal house of Ayodhya in ancient India, is set to inherit his father's throne until a queen's scheming to crown her own son gets him exiled to the forest for fourteen years. His wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana go with him. After Rama defeats the demons of the forest, he draws the anger of the demon king Ravana, who uses a trick to lure Rama away and carry Sita off to his castle. To win her back, Rama joins forces with an army of monkeys led by their general Hanuman, and they go to war against Ravana's powerful forces in this animated adventure film.
