A dog person working in a cat restaurant should be terrible, but the show uses that friction to ask what it actually means to feed someone. Instead of cooking or serving, her new role is brushing her furry coworkers. Each episode brings new customers through the door of Ramen Akaneko, and with them come warm, heartfelt moments between humans and cats. The comedy comes from the everyday business of cats running a restaurant, and the warmth comes from watching Tamako, still carrying scars from her last job, find a place where she might truly belong.
