A woman and her oversized cat live in the same apartment without ever quite living together, and somehow that distance is the whole point. Yukichi cooks, budgets, worries about sales, and feels genuinely tired by the end of the day, which means he's not a magical solution to Saku's chaos, he's just someone (something) sharing the weight of existing. The comedy lands because it treats depression and domestic inertia as the permanent condition of life, not a problem waiting for a third-act fix.

Saku Fukuzawa is an ordinary office worker who lives alone with Yukichi, the stray black cat she took in. Yukichi is no ordinary pet: he now stands taller than Saku, walks on two legs, and has taken charge of the household. While Saku rushes for the morning train and works late into the night, he packs her lunches, cooks her meals, keeps the home spotless and does the grocery shopping. Temperamental and proud of his cooking, he studies supermarket flyers for bargains and perks up at a good sale. Saku may not have her life in order yet, but with Yukichi around, it becomes hard to say who is looking after whom. The result is a gentle slice of life comedy with a fantasy twist.
