Anime Like Ray
A girl raised to be dismantled becomes the only surgeon who can save people whole. SYNOPSIS
Ray was raised in captivity to become a source of organs for the wealthy. By the time renegade surgeon Black Jack found her, she had already lost her eyes to the black market. A decade later, those stolen eyes have been replaced with artificial ones that grant her surgical precision beyond normal human capability. Now a surgeon herself, Ray walks a double life: performing impossible operations that earn her fame and respect, while secretly hunting for the people who orchestrated her childhood imprisonment and stole what was rightfully hers. Her search pulls her deeper into the underworld of illegal organ trafficking, where the line between saving lives and seeking vengeance blurs. Ray must navigate a morally complicated landscape where surgical skill alone cannot answer the questions that haunt her. Each procedure brings her closer to uncovering what happened to the other children trapped in the same fate, but every answer carries a price. Caught between gratitude for her new life and the weight of unresolved trauma, Ray confronts whether justice and compassion can coexist, or whether her quest for revenge will consume the person Black Jack saved.
